PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Our Veterinary Health and Animal Care at Pasadena Humane serve as the backbone of the organization, providing critical healthcare that enhances the well-being and adoptability of animals in need. We are seeking dedicated volunteers who can help us with medical data entry, thereby allowing our medical staff to help more animals. The Medical Data Entry Assistant will work with our health team to input important medical notes into a centralized software system. This role is crucial to keeping our team organized and ensuring timely medical attention for all animals under our care. ****IMPORTANT NOTICE: IF YOU NEED TO CANCEL YOUR SHIFT FOR ANY REASON, PLEASE DO SO AT LEAST 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE. DUTIES: - Transcribing handwritten medical notes - Ensuring that all medical data is accurate and up-to-date - Assisting the medical team in maintaining organized medical records - Cross-referencing data to verify accuracy - Adhering to strict data privacy and confidentiality policies - Communicating with team members to clarify any unclear medical notes REQUIREMENTS: - Basic understanding of Chameleon software (training will be provided) - Strong attention to detail - Ability to work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner - Willingness to adhere to all data privacy guidelines - Basic knowledge of medical terminology is a plus, but not required - A passion for animal welfare - 18 years of age or older HOW LONG: - 2-hour shifts, 3-5 pm REQUIRED TRAINING: Please review instructions here: https://pasadenahumanesociety-my.sharepoint.com/:f:/g/personal/cbriffett_pasadenahumane_org/EincPJYvj3FAj9eOc8JGAGoBT-pI-o1Oc-I9G5YtW7L3qA?e=eggZUN In-person training will also be provided in person on the day of your shift by a member of Volunteer Services.
